Endodontic Treatments
Every procedure below exists for one reason: to keep a natural tooth that would otherwise be lost. Which one applies to you depends on what is happening inside the tooth, and that is what a consultation establishes.

- Endodontic specialty only

How the treatments relate to one another
Root canal therapy is the core procedure: the diseased pulp is removed, the canal system is cleaned and sealed, and the tooth stays. Endodontic treatment describes that same discipline more broadly, including the diagnosis that decides whether it is needed at all.
When a tooth that has already been treated does not settle, retreatment reopens it to find what was missed. When the problem sits at the very tip of the root and cannot be reached from above, apicoectomy treats it surgically from the side.
Cracked teeth and traumatic injuries are the two categories defined by cause rather than technique — a cracked tooth may need anything from a crown to extraction depending on how deep the crack runs, and dental trauma is treated as urgent because outcomes depend heavily on how quickly it is seen.
Sedation runs alongside all of them. It addresses anxiety rather than pain, and it is the reason some patients finally deal with a tooth they have avoided for years.
Not sure which applies to you?
That is what the consultation is for. Bring any recent X-rays and we will work it out properly.
